Upcoming New Features for the BlockFi Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card

The highly anticipated BlockFi Rewards Visa® Signature Credit Card is finally landing in clients’ hands. Now that the card has concluded its Beta testing period, we’ve started inviting people from the top of the credit card waitlist to apply for the card and start using it in the real world. We will be working quickly to invite as many eligible waitlist participants as possible to apply for the card.

We’ve seen your tweets and we’ve heard you in the Reddit AMAs – you want the card now. You’re eager to start earning Bitcoin back on every purchase, and we want to help you stack those sats. Although the card already comes with a host of exciting benefits and features, this is just the beginning. We’re planning to add even more functionality and ways for you to earn more with the world’s first Bitcoin rewards credit card. Here are some of the features we intend to add soon:

Pay your bill with stablecoin – As an alternative to paying your credit card bill with fiat, we plan to add functionality to let you pay with stablecoin. Since cardholders with stablecoin assets such as GUSD, BUSD, PAX or USDC in a BlockFi Interest Account can earn 2% extra APY in Bitcoin on your stablecoin holdings* this could be a great way to get your crypto to work for you.
Rewards flex – It's nice to have options. Similar to our Interest Flex Payments, this feature would let you choose the cryptocurrency you want to receive your rewards in.
Add authorized users – Adding members of your family is not only a great way to earn more rewards, it can also be an easy way to help others build a healthy credit history.
Card partnerships – We’re committed to helping you earn more rewards in more places. On top of our unlimited 1.5% back in Bitcoin, we intend to add specific merchants and categories that will increase your rewards rate on those qualifying purchases. Keep an eye out for more details.
Instant Issuance -- If you are approved for the card you would be able to access a digitally provisioned card to add to your digital wallet immediately upon approval. This would allow you to start earning bitcoin rewards by using a digital card the moment you’re approved while you are waiting for your physical card to get in your hands.
Mobile application feature improvements – Starting today, you’ll be able to activate your card and track your spending and rewards on mobile devices. Our mobile product team plans to implement the same card management functionality from our web platform, such as managing payments and locking your card on the mobile app by the end of summer. We also plan to continue adding ongoing enhancements such as instant digital card issuance.
